Individual Counselling

What is Individual Counselling?

Individual counselling is a process where you meet one-on-one with a trained therapist to talk about things that are on your mind, things you’re struggling with, or things you want to better understand about yourself.

What it’s for:

  • Mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, stress, or trauma

  • Life changes like a breakup, job loss, grief, or big decisions

  • Self-exploration—understanding your emotions, patterns, or identity

  • Improving skills like confidence, boundaries, or emotional regulation

What happens in a session?

  • You sit down with a therapist (either in person or online) and talk.

  • You share whatever feels important or relevant to you—there’s no script.

  • The therapist listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and helps you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

  • It’s confidential (with a few exceptions for safety), and it’s all about you.

You might:

  • Gain clarity on a situation

  • Learn new ways of coping with stress or emotions

  • Work through difficult memories

  • Set personal goals and make changes at your own pace

What it’s not:

  • It’s not advice-giving—the therapist won’t tell you what to do, but will help you figure out what’s best for you.

  • It’s not only for people in crisis—you don’t need to be “at your worst” to benefit from it.

  • It’s not instant—progress can take time, but many people find it deeply rewarding.

Think of it like:

A space that’s just for you.
It’s where you can be honest, unpack your thoughts without judgment, and get support from someone trained to help you grow, heal, and make sense of things.
